Last week (flash backs)Lia climbs upside-down with her magic slippers over the roof in the shadows. She notices that the head of the colossus has two horns. She can see its eyes – one is an empty socket and the other is an enormous ruby.

She walks further, along the ceiling, in shadows towards the northern gantry, creeping down to get a peek along the hallway. As she gets close she can see that there is flickering fire. She can see two big stone tables. At the further of the two, there are some fire giants arm wrestling.  There are 3 ogres nearby cheering and calling out. On the western side of the room is a staircase, descending. There is a hallway on the east. There are four pillars that would give some cover.

There is a fire dimly lighting the room from the fireplace. There are chandeliers on the ceiling but there are no candles or lights. There are frescos of giants fighting dragons. It seems like a hall for giving speeches or assembly hall, rather than a dining area.

She walks upside down between the chains back to the team.

They look down at the Duke, the dome-like structure appears to be a forge and it’s not burning properly. They know that the drows were trying to steal the Dawn Titan fire elemental and the house of Xolarrin but Lia and the dwarves fought them off.

Those who have disguise spells are feeling them wear off. Gunther grabs his clothes back from the bag of holding. They both try to climb the cranes. Miss Moss slips and is dangling from a chain between a bucket and the gantry. Thoradin pulls out his grappling hook and pulls Miss Moss back. He pulls the chain to allow her to swing back towards Gunther. Gunther is also dangling his tail out for her to grab onto and she manages to swing over to grab onto a bucket. Gunther casts invisibility on them both, and stage whispers “Hey, are you ready for this?“

They move along towards the tunnel, it’s loud and dark. Up ahead they see bright burning light and the floor below opens out. They can see a wheel that are clearly moving the buckets. The slaves work to move the huge wheel in a circle. There is an intense heat. They are overcome with the furnace heat.

They can see 4 ogres on a gantry that hugs the wall. Close to them on the left they see an adolescent, fat, fire giant shaking one of the slaves, accusing it of slacking off. He takes the slave and hangs it out over the 50 foot drop then brings him back and keeps berating it. He screams to get back to work. They keep going.

They can see a big pool of molten ore. There are 4 blacksmith fire giants below.

The buckets swing around and begin heading back north. In the distance they can see a corridor that leads to the area where Duke Zalto was.  They can see 2 mine carts heading up on tracks into the dark. There are 4 dwarves unloading ore and another Salamander.  They head back towards the others, Miss Moss waves but she’s invisible.

They go past the arm wrestling fire giants and eventually back to the room with the orcs, there are 8 of them. There is a huge fire giant on the other side of the room, unlike anything they have seen before. Instead of having weapons or armour, it stands with two huge shields on his arms, stuck into the ground. On the southern end of the room there is a closed door.

Miss Moss gives a little bird call to Gunther to signal and they both jump out and start heading towards the fire giant. Gunther look through the crack in the door and it looks like a room where slaves are disciplined, with manacles and stone tables. They tiptoe back to the buckets. The orcs appear under duress, working hard and not there of their own free will. The giant has no emotions at all.

They return to the adventurers. They talk for a long time

Lia casts Pass without a trace.  They talk some more. The credits roll with Thoradin saying “I think we should kill him.”
