Not a pot to piss in

The sun has set, the streets are quiet. Florida Jake is emptying his bladder on Rodoor’s bed. Thoradin, Leshanna and Miss Moss  are in the shadows looking casual. Gunther is a little way away.  Thoradin and Miss Moss notice Rodor coming up the road.

Thoradin signals by lighting a match. Leshanna sends Rillix up to the window in the alleyway. Miss Moss as Rebecca moves over, taking Thoradin a little by surprise, pretends they are lovers smooching. Rodoor glances over to them and Leshanna slips into the alleyway. Rillix at the window sees Florida Jack finishing his business. He sees the cat at the window and climbs outside and clings onto the vines outside in the shadows. Rillix also crouches and Leshanna observes from below.

Rodoor enters his room, takes off his robe. He looks around, stiffens and notices the opened packages. He sees the room has been disturbed.  He smells and jumps back in disgust. He grabs his top layer of robe and dashes back out of the room again. A few minutes later he exits into the square. He begins looking around suspiciously. Miss Moss starts pashing Thoradin again. He dashes back the direction he came from. Florida Jake climbs down.

Rillix goes in and has a look around – near the cot on the floor he discovers a pamphlet. It doesn’t look special but it is labelled “Theldimyr’s Crystal” and there is a crystal ball on it. It is a business card for a shop in Silvery Moon. She is reminded of her recent vision.

Leshanna summons Rillix back and prepares to leave the area. Florida Jake waits to get an opportunity to come down. As soon as the danger has passed Rebecca Smidt goes red in the face and shakes Thoradin by the hand. They dust themselves off an rearrange their clothes in a little embarrassment. Thoradin mutters that it was a perfectly understandable strategy. Miss Moss feels a surge of freedom in her disguise.  Everyone gathers together in the street and Leshanna quickly shares the information she saw via Rilliax.

“Someone should follow him  but Thoradin and I aren’t disguised.”  Gunther is gone, they’ve no idea when he left and where.

Rebecca and Florida Jake follow behind Rodor.  They move quickly through the city behind him and come to a mansion with a family crest, it is a peach colour with a notable pattern. Rodor moves up to the gate and appears to slide through a crack in the gate, moving through the grounds to the mansion.

They take note of the location and any other notable features then head over to meet Thoradin and Leshanna.

Thoradin and Leshanna head towards the market area and find a shop marked “Theldamyr’s Crystal.” It is closed. Leshanna looks inside, it is a treasure trove of glass objects with rows of crystal balls, lenses, glasses and wizarding objects. There is a shop counter and dim lighting.

They retire for the evening. Thoradin and Leshanna at the Golden Oak. Rebecca at the Wizard and Wand. Florida Jake in a pile of garbage near the mansion.

At the mansion

Early in the morning, the lord of the manor with long dark hair comes out. He is accompanied by two guards. All are dressed in cream robes and they walk down the street. Florida Jake follows behind at a distance. He makes his way to the palace of High Lady Ilustria (the leader of Silvery Moon). People salute him as he walks past.

Rebecca wakes up and has breakfast with her new friends. She learns of a new sage.

Thoradin and Leshanna make their way to the crystal ball shop – A very hunched over human man emerges. He introduces himself as Theldamyr, the owner of the shop. He makes the crystal balls from the finest crystal.  Thoradin looks around the shop and can’t really see anything too noticeable.

There’s a stack of papers on the desk, glassware, crystals. He notices that Theldamyr has a slight yellowish sweat, it seems unnatural and unnerving. Around the shop are high quality alchemy supplies, tools and items for scrying. He also has services to make eyewear. Leshanna asks if there’s anywhere she can try out the magic – he spies her suspiciously. She needs to think about the cost – the one she is holding is 20,000g.

They return to the Wixard and Wand and meet the others. Gunther arrives, obviously incognito.

“Pst it’s me, it’s Gunther.” They exchange information – he says that he has found out that the Lord of the Manor. He passes over a piece of paper telling them that this guy is the head of the Spell Guard.  Joris Azimantle – one of the most senior people in Silvery Moon.

They go to see Lacey Crumb, walking into the reading room area where they can speak freely. They explain everything they know. She’s very interested in the chat. The high lady has expressed suspicion about Joris. HE’s been the leader of the Spellguard for almost 25 years and it doesn’t make sense. He’s been loyal.

After every point she makes, Gunther says “Ahh yes, just as I thought! Exactly as I suspected.”

She reads the note,  with “D.A.” initials. Darius Azimantle is Joris’ son. And he’s been difficult for a long time. Theldimyr has also not been behaving himself lately. She wonders if they can go back at night and get more information.

The token was given to her from Lady Illustria and will open magically sealed doors.

Miss Moss is going to change into her regular gear. Londer also reluctantly had a shower and returns to his normal self. (He gains an acting feat for his performance)

They wait until nightfall. Leshanna has the token. She and Londer walk up to the door. It opens automatically. A bell rings. It is very quiet. Londer steals a crystal ball. Leshanna sees him do it. He steals another. Leshanna is very annoyed.

Leshanna indicates to the others outside that the coast is clear. They all come inside

They find a register of customers. Rodor Greeves and Darius Azimantle are both listed. Miss Moss memorises the list.

As they look around, the rug seems slightly more frayed than other areas.

Miss Moss pushes the desk, pulls the rug aside and finds a trapdoor.  She tries it. It flings open. It is dimly lit. They descend the ladder and find themselves in a cellar. There are shelves with glassware on the walls, like the shop. In the distance there are lanterns flickering and they walk through the corridor. It opens into a wider space.

There they see a statue of Asmodeus. Leshanna quickly draws a picture of it. Kneeling before the statue is a human man they don’t recognise. He is perfectly still.
