Last week (flash backs) | Mirrabar to Everlund Lia and Miss Moss travel by gryphon. Miss Moss takes the opportunity to allow her little dragon, Skynugget, to learn how to fly alongside. The dragon is beginning to be a bit spirited The others head to the teleportation area in Mirrabar, and Zaspier the mage recognises them immediately. He rakes away to reveal the rune and they are transported through the mist to Moonglen tower. They wake the mage Nespril at the other end. He ushers them to the white gleaming halls of the tower. They head back to Danivar’s inn. There are a lot of young, enthusiastic adventurers, some are playing fantasy beer pong with goblets. They go to the stables, they collect their mounts: Patricia, Maximillian, Chookybird, Osric and Shep. They collect supplies and rations, and begin the journey to Silvery Moon – Lia on Keanareeves and the others on land-mounts Everlund to Citadel Felbarr They make their way past Hawks Nest, the road thins out. There are few travellers. The weather is poor. They reach the fork that leads towards Citadel Felbar and they see mountains, as the path grows thinner. There are a few merchants but it’s generally quiet. There is a Causeway that connects from one side of a cliff to another. There are doors leading into the side of the mountain. A lone gatehouse appears. They approach and see a lone dwarf manning it. The gates are open. They hold the symbol of the hammer and anvil. A chimney sticks out with smoke spewing into the sky. There are winds rushing up. The dwarf puts his arm up and says “Halt ye! What business have ye in Citadel Felbarr?’ Thoradin explains his letter of recommendation and they are allowed through. Thoradin says to the others “That’s the rune gate!”. The others are not as excited as him. He explains all about all the statistics and history of the gate as they continue to walk through and arrive in an enormous, domed space filled with dwarves. He is constantly chattering, excited to see things from his childhood and to be amongst his culture. Meeting the King and Queen Thoradin delivers the letter from Ghelryn to the King and Queen and he is congratulated for their work at Triboar. There has been much trouble for them, the Fire Giants have become very dangerous and they are not able to leave the Citadel. Citizens have been abducted, in great number. There is a forge, it has been abandoned for centuries. In recent years it has become active. There are signs that the mines are being worked by the slaves that they capture. Thoradin offers to to go and investigate and bring news. There will be tremendous reward with a fortress and defenders. They are invited for a feast. The Banquet Hall at Citadel Felbarr A huge hall with tables lined and filled with varieties of food and thousands of residents of Citadel Felbarr. Drink flows, it’s a proper banquet. Queen Tithall enters with an ornate black chest with several latches on it. She presents it to Thoradin, “As a reward for your kindness to Ghelryn.” Golden lion statues Inside is black padding and inside are two golden statues, both identical, carved lions of tremendous quality. They are humming with magical energy. They are figurines of wondrous power. When thrown onto the ground they will summon an actual lion. It represents a golden lion that lives on another plain of existence. Each statue contains the essence of each lion and it activates the pathway for them to appear. It lasts for an hour. If the lion dies it will return to its plain but can be summoned again after 7 days. They party into the evening and are put up in very lovely lodgings. As they head to bed, Thoradin gloats a little, “Aren’t you glad we came here?!” |
